Edmund King

Edmund King is a Lecturer in English in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at The Open University (OU), where he has worked since 2010. He has a background in digital humanities and (before arriving at the OU) he worked for three years in library digitization (TEI encoding) at what was then the New Zealand Electronic Text Centre at Victoria University of Wellington. Primarily a book historian with a specialty in the history of reading, he researches and publishes in a variety of fields, including First World War reading and literary cultures, Shakespearean editing and textual studies, and hospital libraries (and the histories and pre-histories of bibliotherapy) in Britain.
